The 21st Annual Ontario QSO Party 2018, Held on the third full weekend of April.
In the contest, stations outside Ontario make as many contacts with Ontario amateur radio stations as possible.
Ontario stations contact as many amateur radio stations as possible both in Ontario and world-wide.

RULES

Team Members

The mini dx-pedition is again happening this year with the following
Hamilton Amateur Radio Club  members heading north
to “light up” the Temiskaming region, North of Sturgeon Falls,
GPS Lat 46 52’ 38.5”N, Long 80 16’ 38.11”W.for the Ontario QSO party.
 The team will consist of the following members:
 Paul Fleck – VE3HTF
Gary Young – VE3GYX
Roger Pimm – VE3UFZ
Ahmet Ozguder – VA3TUR
Jim Sawadski – VE3JS
Operations will be on Phone, CW and digital on the H.F, bands, and on route Simplex, 146.520
We will be using the amateur call sign: VE3RCB

 Weather permitting we should have no difficulties.
We have located the closest emergency services in Sturgeon Falls.
We have advised the local O.P.P. of our final destination
and emergency contact information is listed further down the page.

We operate in the wilderness out of a trappers cabin.
No power, internet, no services....just wilderness.
We take everything, food, generators, all gear, to operate for four days.
Expecting a lot of snow and a couple of feet of pack ice on the lake.
We will have two Delta loop antennas, long wire, G5RV and Buddy Pole
Listen to the ONTARS net frequency of 3.755 Mhz for operational frequencies and times.

Departure is Thursday April 19th and returning Monday April 23rd 2018

Our team will head out on Friday at 08:30 hours for the 6.5 hour trip to Lake Manitou in the Timiskaming region, North of Sturgeon Falls.

The area is isolated and we are bringing all provisions.

We will be participating in the Ontario QSO Party contest but also operating outside the contest hours
on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday.  Our return is scheduled for Monday.
